It’s time for my next ‘Business Chat’ blog where I have a chat with some of my clients, mentors and business friends and to discover their top business tips, hacks and some useful little nuggets of wisdom from their years in business!
Today my guest is Maxine Kerley of Digital Bon Bons and she is going to share her top tips for getting organised.
Hi Maxine, can you tell us a bit about what you do?
Hi, I’m the owner of Digital Bon Bons. I’m a self employed digital marketer.I work with parent run businesses, helping them understand all the elements involved with marketing, use that knowledge to then form a strategy and plan and help with support and encouragement to then bring that plan of action to life and achieve it. I’m definitely a digital geek.
So you must spend a lot of time online or using tech?
Yes for the business I do and even in my previous corporate roles, it’s always involved being on a computer or a screen so I do spend a lot of time online, with digital marketing you can’t avoid it really but this does me that I am very strict with having digital detoxes and times away to have a healthy balance.
I’d love to know – how do you stay organised with all of your clients, projects and tech tools? Are there any apps you couldn’t live without?
Ooooh organising is my jam, I’ve always been such a geek for “getting organised” ha ha. I use a variety of tools from project management like Asana, Canva for graphics, Later for Instagram scheduling, Pexels for fab free images, Tailwind for Pinterest scheduling, Wave for Invoicing, Google Drive for all the docs. Also Streak for Gmail is fab as you can schedule emails – no one will know you wrote your reply at 11pm #winwin
Are there any other tips you want to share?
I think when it comes to your marketing, having a plan can really save you time. I know you will need to put time aside to make the plan but once you do and you know what you’re doing across all your marketing you actually save time – who doesn’t want that when they’re juggling parenting and business owner life?
A plan can help you structure your content and what channels you share it on, it helps you align your activities to your goals – all important as we want the work we’re doing in getting seen online to equal results and work towards our bigger goals. You also have something you can refer back to time and time again to keep you on track and focused.
I’d like this to be a regular series so if you’re interested in sharing your business tips then get in touch! I’d love to hear from you.
